The Clock In/Clock Out link will display in the Navigation Menu if implemented by your organization. You can use the Clock In/Clock Out link to quickly create a time entry request if your Alio employee record is assigned a primary Time Reporting Group (TRG) with the Time Reporting Option set to Time.
When you click the Clock In/Clock Out link, if your Alio employee record is assigned a TRG with the Time Reporting Option set to Hourly, the List of Jobs displays in Red text along with the following message: "Time cannot be entered because job is linked to an hourly time reporting group." |
After creating the time entry request, you can modify the request using the Payroll > Request Time Entry Changes link. In the Request History grid, click the Request Date to display the time entry request details. Refer to the Modifying Time Records topic for more information.
You must go to the Request Time Entry page to submit the time entry request for approval.
When an earn code override is required, an employee must edit their time record to link each time record to an earn code override prior to submitting the request. |
The following rules apply when using the Clock In/Clock Out function.
You must have a minimum of 1 minute between the clock in time and clock out time. If you clock in to or clock out of the wrong job, go the Time Entry Requests page to delete the time entry record.
You cannot clock in to multiple jobs at the same time. If you clock in to another job before clocking out of the previous job:
A message will display stating that you are already clocked in to another job.
If allowed by your
organization, a clock out time is automatically assigned to the previous
job that matches the clock in time for the selected job record. For
example, the Job 1 end time and Job 2 start time are both set to 8:30
am when you clock in to Job 1 at 8:00 am and clock in to Job 2 at
8:30 am without clocking out of Job 1.
If
not allowed by your organization, a one-minute time difference is
required between the Clock Out time for Job 1 and Clock In time for
Job 2. For example, if the Job 1 end time is 8:30 am the Job 2 start
time is 8:31 am.
Refer to the Allow End Time to be Same as the Next Start Time
preference explanation for more information.
The Clock In/Clock Out link will not display in the Navigation Menu when modifying a time entry request.
The List of Jobs is automatically re-sequenced to display the current clocked in job at the top of the list.
