Managing Links

Use the Maintenance Tools on the Links page to add a link, modify a link, re-sequence the link display order, or delete a link.

Adding a Link

Follow these steps to add a link. You must enter both a Link Name and Link URL to save the record.

  1. On the Admin Home page, click the Links link.

  2. Click the Add button in the Quick Links or Menu Additions panel. The panel selected depends on where you want the link to display. The Add Link to [Panel Name] page displays, where [Panel Name] is either Quick Links or Menu Additions.

  3. In the Link Name field, type a descriptive name for the link. You can enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters.

  4. In the Link URL field, type the URL for this link. You can also copy a URL and paste that URL into this field.

  5. Click the Click here to test URL link to verify that the URL is correct.

  6. Click the button.

  7. Click the Exit Administration link to return to the Home page. In the Quick Links area or Navigation Menu, click the link to make sure it works.

Modifying a Link

Follow these steps to change a link. You must enter both a Link Name and Link URL to save the record.

  1. On the Admin Home page, click the Links link.

  2. Click the Modify button in the Quick Links or Menu Additions panel. The panel selected depends on where you want the link to display. The Modify Link page displays.

  3. Make the necessary changes to the Link name and/or the Link URL.

  4. If the Link URL changed, click the Click here to test URL link to verify that the URL is correct.

  5. Click the button.

  6. Click the Exit Administration link to return to the Home page. In the Quick Links area or Navigation Menu, click the link to make sure it works.

Re-sequencing the Links

Use the Move Up Arrow button and Move Down Arrow button to re-sequence the links in the Quick Links or Menu Additions panel. This order matches the order in which the links display on the Employee Home page.

Follow these steps to re-sequence the links.

  1. On the Admin Home page, click the Links link.

  2. Click the Move Up Arrow button to move the corresponding link up in the list; or click the Move Down Arrow button  to move the corresponding link down in the list.

Deleting a Link

Follow these steps to delete a link.

  1. On the Admin Home page, click the Links link.

  2. Click the Delete button that corresponds to the link to be deleted. The message "Are you sure you want to delete the link "[Link Name]"?" displays.

  3. Click the button to delete the link.

  4. Click the Exit Administration link to verify that the link no longer displays on the Home page.
