About the Deduction Request Queue Options

Use the Deduction Request Setup system options to identify the deduction groups used to organize the individual deduction plans that an employee can select when submitting a deduction request. Examples of deduction groups may include Dental plan group, Health plan group, Life Insurance plan group, and Disability insurance plan group.

You can assign an open enrollment period to a deduction group to allow employees to enroll in or submit changes to the deduction plans in that group during a specific time frame. If an open enrollment period is not specified, employees can enroll in or submit changes to a deduction plan in that group at any time.

You can also give the employee the option to submit changes to a deduction plan outside the enrollment period.

You can limit the deductions in which your employees may enroll by assigning an effective date to your deduction groups. When an employee enters a deduction request on the Deduction Request page in the Employee Interface, the employee may select only from deductions that are active as of the effective date.

If you leave the effective date blank, all current and future deductions display on the Deduction Request page.

The effective date is also used to set the default value for the Start Date field on the Deduction Request page.

You can require an employee to have at least one dependent or dependent request on file to select a deduction group; and to select pre-tax or after-tax plans.

You can filter the deduction groups available to an employee by employment status.

You can require an employee to select one deduction plan or at least one deduction plan from a deduction group when the employee enters a request or you can make it optional that the employee must select one deduction plan or at least one deduction plan from a deduction group.

You can use the premium assigned to a deduction plan in Alio or allow the employee to enter the premium as a dollar amount or a percentage.
