About the Benefit Request Queue System Options

Use the Benefits Request Setup system options to identify the benefit groups used to organize the individual benefit plans offered to employees by your organization. An employee may select an individual benefit plan from a group when submitting a benefit plan request. Examples of benefit groups may include charitable donations.

You can assign an open enrollment period to a benefit plan group to allow employees to enroll in or submit changes to the benefit plans in that group during a specific time frame. If an open enrollment period is not specified, employees can enroll in or submit changes to a benefit plan in that group at any time.

You can also give the employee the option to submit changes to a benefit plan outside the enrollment period.

You can limit the benefit plans in which your employees may enroll by assigning an effective date to a benefit plan group. When an employee enters a benefit request, the employee may select only from benefit plans that are active as of the effective date. Leave the effective date blank to allow the employee to select both current and future benefit plans when submitting a Benefit Request.

The effective date is also used to set the default value for the Start Date field on the Benefit Request page.

You can require an employee to have at least one dependent or dependent request on file to select a benefit group; and to select pre-tax or after-tax plans.

You can filter the benefit groups available to an employee by employment status.

When the employee enters a request, you can require an employee to select one plan or at least one plan from a benefit group; or you can make it optional that the employee must select one plan or at least one plan from a benefit group.

You can use the premium assigned to a benefit plan in Alio or allow the employee to enter the premium as a dollar amount or a percentage.
